Vclip Story

I am a location sound mixer living in the Los Angeles area. About 4 years ago I purchased the Sanken COS 11 lavalier mic and thought it was one of the best lav mics on the market. The problem was Sanken didn't make a vampire clip for the mic. I looked for after market products and couldn't find any available. I work mostly on documentaries and have to pretty much hide the mics all the time. Vampire clips work well when you are constantly putting mics on and off people.

So I created the Vclip. The tubular design allow the COS 11 to slide right into the tube and stop at the rubber bushing where the mic cable meets the mic tube. The mic is held in place by that tension between the rubber bushing and the Vclip tube. Also the mic head sits just below the top edge of the Vclip tube so there's no chance it will come in contact with fabric. This means no more taping hidden mics which can be time consuming and not as effective in moisture situations. To this day where the application suites the situation I use the Vclip all the time.
